Fisk’s work explores patterns and anxieties played out by our human nature and how our caveman impulses play out in both archaic and contemporary contexts. Her work especially concerns the binary between body and consciousness, animate and inanimate and how these ideas are portrayed though out history. Fisk attempts to manipulate the viewer into hyperconsciousness of there own bodies, revealing the nature of inhabiting a body. Using archetypal characters, themes and historical symbolic references, she aims to explore ‘all man’ that transcends time and space and question how ideas of the self and body develop during our age of accelerated technological advances.
